The Banana Splits
Trivia
The Banana Splits was inspired by "The Monkees" and "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In".
The Banana Splits was broadcast as "The Banana Splits Adventure Hour", and also "The Banana Splits and Friends Show".
Regular segments of the show were "The Arabian Knights" (animated), "The Three Musketeers" (animated), "Micro-Ventures" (animated), and "Danger Island" (live action).
Later seasons also featured re-runs of segments from "The New Adventures of Huck Finn" (1968), "The Adventures of Gulliver" (1968), and "The Hillbilly Bears" (1965).
The name of the group of little girls that terrorized the Banana Splits were the Sour Grapes.
The set and costumes were designed by Sid and Marty Krofft.
U.K. intro lyrics: "One banana, two banana, three banana, four, four bananas make a bunch and so do many more. Flippin' like a pancake, poppin' like a cork, Fleegle, Bingo, Drooper and Snork..."
